With summer rapidly approaching my wife and I decided that we wanted to increase time spent on our deck, however, due to the location of our home in Central Texas, shade is hard to come by. We decided that we wanted something a little out of the ordinary for shade, so we contacted Don with Texas Palapas. After talking with Don we established that an Umbrella Palapa was the best fit for our deck. Don and his team wasted no time in the construction and installation of the Palapa. The Palapa gave our deck a Caribbean feel with shade to spare. My wife and I are very impressed with the Palapa and we highly recommend using Don and his team with Texas Palapas.

Texas Palapas did an excellent job on our custom 2 post palapa. They did an outstanding job in crafting a palapa that would withstand our windy weather in North Texas and would beautify our backyard pool area. I scoured the Internet for months in search of Palapa kits, and couldn’t find anything I like. Everything looked fake or actually WAS fake! I was also searching with keywords tiki hut and bali hut at the time, and found very little I liked. Just when I almost gave up, I came across the term Palapa. Immediately upon searching with that term I found Texas Palapas! WHAT A RELIEF! Not only did Don’s Palapa come in a kit, it also looked the most authentic than any others I’ve seen. I immediately fell in love with the Real Cedar Supports, and at Don’s prices, I could not pass it up. I talked to Don and he gladly came out to do a site survey. At that time he went over the installation process and told me what I’d be in for. After Don came back with a quote, I was simply amazed and concluded the only way to do this, was to have Don’s crew install it for me. The price simply could not be beat! Don and his crew showed up for the install and even worked with my concrete patio guys to help get the posts seated for ultimate strength. He even brought GREEN LEAVES with him!! I could not believe it. The installation took about 2 days, and right now I am sitting in my Backyard Paradise! Thanks to Texas Palapas, I am the envy of my neighborhood and have something that is not only unique, gorgeous, and affordable, but can also withstand the treacherous Texas winds that pick up from time to time.

After a fabulous vacation in Mexico where we spent most of our time under a poolside palapa, we decided that we had to have a palapa of our own. We were very excited to find out that there was a place here in Austin that could provide us our new dream palapa. Don, aka Palapa Don, was extremely helpful in explaining the process and made several trips to our home to make suggestions on our pool decking that was already in process of being framed. We were then able to quickly make the necessary adjustments to the decking to fit the size of the Palapa that we wanted built. Don then built the Palapa at his shop and provided us pictures along the way to show his progress. He then made additional trips to our home to ensure he had exact measurements for the post as we now know no slab is poured perfectly level. As you can tell, Don only builds a quality product and is very attentive to all details involved. After construction, he made some additional trips to our home to ensure it was still in top quality after experiencing some rough weather and I’m glad to say it still looked good as new. Our family has thoroughly enjoyed spending time in our new outdoor retreat.
